Three Years and Counting.. Happy Anniversary!!

Well, today is a very special day for me. Three years ago on this day in Miami, Florida I married my best friend and the love of my life. It was the best day of my life and a catalyst to my creative appetite. I worried and harped on some many details of this day. In fact, I did many of the details myself and within a matter of months I became a professional paper crafter. I designed and printed my save the dates, designed my wedding website, made welcome baskets as well as my programs. What I did leave to others I was very meticulous and probably stressed out my vendors more than I ever but I was nice about it. In honor of my wedding color palette ( I couldn't just pick one color) I decided to make this card with left over paper from my wedding invitations along with the ribbon I used on my favors. Yes, I still have them. I never throw anything away.

  • A2 base in Chocolate Chip
  • Outer top layer in bronze metallic cardstock
  • The top note was made with 12 1 1/4" squares cut from bronze and copper metallic cardstock and adhered to a 3 3/4 x 5 piece of cardstock that was embossing with Damask textured plate and then run through the Top Note Die (113463) on the Big Shot (113439).
  • Using my 5-petal flower punch(109041) that I got during the first Deal of the Week, I punched two flowers in bronze and copper and adhered with Fire Circle brad (109110)
  • The ribbon which is from my wedding favors, I added across the middle
  • The sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes(115370) was stamped in chocolate chip on Very Vanilla.
  • Cut the sentiment out with the Word Window punch (105090) and adhere on top of Modern Label (116630) punched from Chocolate Chip
All my work on my wedding really showed. After receiving so many compliments, being featured on my photographer's site and validation from a Inside Wedding magazine article , I decided to go into business as a event planner with my friend and The Wedding Stylists was born. I think I just enjoy being creative whether it be weddings or cards or scrapbooks. I truly believe that everyone can be creative mainly because I am living proof. I was a boring girl who thought I was not even remotely creative or artistic until my wedding unleashed the creative person I had been hiding all along.
